Forest adventure (& signs of spring)

Today we went to a trail close to us. This is what we nickname, "Forest". We went there in the midst of winter and is where we found for the very first time, a big bird nest. We took a nice long walk there, exploring, playing and just enjoying nature.

Discovering fungi, they are hard; see the center of the tree, the guide for maple syrup trip said this is the dead part, and when drilling for sap, drill past the bark, into the middle but don't go to the center. Well, today, we saw a real example. J balancing on a tree. It took a little convincing and daddy showing her it is fun.


Getting brave, really getting brave. Prime was so brave. He is not fearless but he willing to try.


There they go again. This is Prime's 3rd attempt. Pretty high! Signs of green in the browns.


More buds; counting the age of the this tree stump (37 years old?) Run, Prime, Run!

Coming out of the "forest". They are beat and is holding each other for some support. :)
