Today, J had big break through. She was able to conquer her fear and come inside to the jump rope. This is when 2 people would swing the rope and the person have to count and be able to come inside the loop and continue to jump. She was thrilled she was able to it. What a difference 1/2 year makes! She was so scared of this when she begun 1st grade.
W boy also made some progress. He was able to follow the beat of the jump rope for about 3 counts while standing in the middle of the rope. He tends to jump a little too fast to do it beyond that but still good progress. He also did well on jumping jacks and is now able to coordinate the arms with the legs.
On another note, we borrowed some Frances books from the library and we really enjoyed reading "Bread and Jam for Frances" by Russell Hoban this afternoon.
