It's official!

Today was suppose to be J girl's last day at her school but due to the weather, school is closed. That means we are starting "home schooling" a little earlier than expected.

Anyway, first change for J is instead of rushing to change clothes, eat breakfast, pack lunch, get her to school in the morning, she is still in her PJ's and playing with the new Mancala game with PRIME. They played for few hours last night and is right at it again. It is actually a really good counting game for them and ties right along with doing halving J was learning at school. For PRIME, it works on his fine-motor skills.

I got the idea of Mancala from one of my fellow ENKI mom. Thank you, Shelly!!

Just to give you a little taste of our homeschool plan, in case you are concerned about J/PRIME's "socialization".

Here is what is going on in terms of classes/activities during the week for J.
1) Choir class
2) Girl Scott (every other week)
3) Gym class
4) Free swim at our community center
5) jazz/tap class
6) play group through church (while I do women bible study)

For PRIME
1) karate class
2) gym class
3) free swim at community center
4) play group through church

This is on top of the various special field trips having planned, HF Museum (MJK day), visit bakery(Feb), Snow show/cross country ski (Feb), Maple Sugaring(March), etc. Of course, let's not forget they are also actively involved in Sunday school, and AWANA (bible memory/gym) through our church. And all their friends wanting to have play dates and there are many birthday invitations.

My main concern actually is to leave enough time to stay home and bond as a family. But I think we will have enough time for that too. :-) Anyway, I'm excited we are starting this journey. Praise the Lord for this!
