Summary and Snapshots of J's number qualities

J girl is done with her 1st math block from Enki. In this block, she listened to fairy tales from around the world from Enki. Then she did a recall the next day, and the following day she made a drawing either of the story she had heard or the number quality associated with that particular number. For each number, there is a nice little verse as well as movements that went with it to further enhance the understanding of the number qualities. There was also a drawing of the number, using dot representation as well as geometric figures. J girl enjoyed doing the geometric figures and practiced quite a bit to make the one for 9.

For number 1, she listened to The Stolen Bairn and the Sidh (Western Europe and USA story)
For number 2, she listened Mufaro's Beautiful Daughters (Africa and the Carribean story)
For number 3, she listened to Pear Blossom (Asia story)
For number 4, she listened to The Wonderful Healing leaves (Middle East story)
For number 5, she listened to The Apple Tree (nature story)
For 6, 8, and 10, she listened to The Evil Giant (Central and South America story)
For number 7, she listened to Snow White and The Seven Dwarfs (Western Europe and USA story)
For number 9, she listened to The Golden Apples and Nine Peahens (Eastern Europe and Russia)

This block really challenged her to think outside of the box. Especially in the beginning, she had to re-think of the way she knew her numbers as she looked for those particular numbers in her own life. Furthermore, in some of the stories, it was challenging to find the particular number in the story. It is almost like finding a treasure. You know it is there but you have to listen attentively and think. Through this math block, J girl has made improvements in summarizing and had many opportunities to listen attentively to a story.
