W's card for daddy (w/ no help from me or J). He's really coming along with his handwriting. J and W thought it was hilarious when daddy pressed on the toys and they made noise. :)

Later in the afternoon, after cake, we went to a conservatory (lucky for us it is free on Wed) where we just all marveled at God's creations. The kids also brought their sketch pad but mostly they loved exploring the place by themselves. Here are a few of my favorites.

Making their own herbal bath bag with lavender, oats, and chamomile. They also try to guess the smell bottles. I think W got all of them except Geranium.

Later, they took a hike in the woods. After they were told by another hiker that she had seen beaver further along the trail, the kids dashed off in excitement in search of beavers. Unfortunately, we didn't see any. But they did have fun looking and trying to throw snow ball to the other side of river. We ended daddy's birthday celebration by going to a new Chinese restaurant. It was a very full and happy day. :)

Aw, so much daddy love! I am hoping to take the kids to the conservatory near us again soon. Happy to hear you all had a fun day together celebrating your husband's b-day. :)
