As with the Lantern festival, there is always the Lantern riddles. So we tried our hand at some. The riddles also came from the book mentioned above.
1."A thick head, an empty belly. Whack it with a stick, it cries tong, tong,tong. (hurt in Chinese) This was J and Prime's favorite.
2. It looks green, But it opens red. What you eat is red, But what you spit out is black. (This one was easy for J)
3. Two small boats, five guests in each, sail o land but never on water; Busy during the daytime, Anchored at night. (This one the kids had a hard time figuring it out)
Then we did a little geography. First with connect the dots, then pin punched a map of China. The idea of the pin punching is to get the map of China out of the paper. I thought I'll explain it here as Prime didn't understand initially what we are trying to do.

They also colored in China's flag. All the sheets comes from Enchanted Learning. J also traced the map of China and identified all the cities we are planning to visit on our China trip.
