W boy's numbers.

W boy has caught the coloring bug!! He colored quite a while last night and even wanted to write the numbers. When the numbers passed ten, I had to tell him, write "one-one for eleven" and so forth. This morning, once again, before eating breakfast, he went straight to his coloring. He is coloring with what Enki calls " engagement". 100% focus, 100% interest, self-motivated, real learning.

This morning, he tells me," I remember what you tell me, to color inside the line and no white spaces." :) That is one of W boy's many positive traits. He remembers what we tells him and soaks it up.

Something else that was funny....last night, when dear hubby told him he did a good job on his coloring, W boy said in a very manly and serious tone, "Thanks". Too funny!! That boy knows exactly what to say and with what expression.

W boy and I have been reading "The Turnip", an eastern European story adapted for Enki Education. Today we drew a picture for the story.

Few of J/W's favorite things

W boy is currently "in love" with his Light Saber sword from Star Wars. He says he is Obi-wan-Kanobe (good guy in SW). He brings it everywhere with him, even to bed.

J girl's has been reading chapter books for a while now, but her favorite is still Junie B, first grader series by Barbara Parker. Here, she is reading Junie B, first grader Dumb Bunny. Sometimes, when she reads something funny, she will laugh out loud. So cute. :)

science center

Today is free day at the science center. We took J girl and W boy there and met some other friends. A small ball pit was a big hit with the kids as well as the play kitchen. They also enjoyed dressing up. W boy wore a fire chief costume and J girl wore a server costume. They also enjoyed drawing on a computer using their fingers. The children all waited patiently for their turn at the drawing. Good times!!

Girl Scott outing

Today, we went to J girl's Girl Scott (daises) meeting at P park . The daises are there to help the city of P decorate one of the many Christmas trees that are there with their own handmade ornaments. Their ornaments are made from old Cds and pine cones and were decorated at one of their earlier meeting. Later, the girls went to PC cafe to play.

One of J girl's favorite friend is A. The two of them are in the same class and loves to play together. J girl will often write notes or give little gifts to A. Just today at the cafe, she wrote a note which says"How to come to my home, then our address, and phone #." She even give it to A's mom (which is big deal) as J girl can be a little shy with adults.

J girl and her new doll

J girl's new doll came few days ago and she immediately give her the name of Annalise in part because she got blond hair. And for Disney fans, you will know Annalise is the princess' name in the movie "The Princess and the Pauper". The princess had blond hair and the pauper(Erica) had brown hair. So funny how children remember these things.

Yesterday, J girl played with "Annalise" for a long time. In the picture, J girl is pretending "A " is sick with high fever and she is feeding her and taking care of her. J girl has also been taking "A" to sleep at night. So cute!

"A" is a 9" doll is handmade by Evi Dolls, a women's co-op in Brazil.

She has blonde hair and blue eyes. She wears an undershirt, an apron dress, bloomers and booties. All of her clothes can be taken on and off. Her facial features are hand painted.

She was made using all natural fibers. Her hair is made from mohair and wool. Her stuffing is from clean, carded wool.

How I wish I know how to make a doll as precious as that!

J girl is using her thumb to make the fish, then adding details to the fish's body with a cotton swab. Viola , the finished product.

This time, there is less confusion as to what the painting is. On W boy's painting, daddy wasn't sure what is was. One of the fish, he thought was a person doing cartwheel!! ha-ha! What an imagination!
